NURSES

Sister Julie SLATER RGN Dip PN, Dip Asthma, Dip CHD.
Sister Slater heads the practice nurse team and has a background in district nursing. She is also a qualified smoking cessation adviser.

Sister Anita TAYLOR RGN Dip, practice nurse.

Susanne MILES and Jenny BRIGGS are our health care assistants.

A midwife provides our liaison with the hospital maternity service.

A team of district nurses visits patients who are housebound for dressings and other treatments.

Angela HALL RGN BSc (Hons) Pub Health, our health visitors, is responsible for the care of the under fives and the elderly.

Audrey ELLIS deals with our administration.
Jean HARPER, Wendy GILSON, Loraine HUTCHINSON, Debra DEIGHTON, Christine WRIGHT, Louise GRIMSON, Elaine HESLOP-MULLENS, Debbie THOMPSON, Katie ROBERTSON, Gail CARR and Sue COOPER are the reception staff.
Gail Carr is the Flamborough receptionist.
Debra DEIGHTON and Suzanne McDOWELL are our medical secretaries.

YOUR HEALTH CARE TEAM

There are six doctors, three practice nurses, two health visitors, district nurses and 13 admin and reception staff - all based at the surgery to help you become healthy and stay healthy. You can read about them, and the times you can see them, elsewhere on this website.

When you join the practice an appointment will be given with our health care assistant as soon as possible for an introductory consultation.

Under fives will receive an appointment to attend a child surveillance clinic. With our appointment system we hope you can continue to see your own doctor.

COMMENTS/COMPLAINTS

We try to provide you with a first class service within the constraints of time and resources, and the unpredictable nature of illness. Should you ever feel that you have constructive suggestions to make about ways to improve our service to you, we would be delighted to receive your ideas personally, by letter, or via the waiting room suggestion box. Should you feel that you have serious cause for complaint, then we have an in-house complaints procedure. Please ask a receptionist for details.

Calls to this number will be answered by the doctors' reception. Out of hours, it is connected to an answerphone machine informing patients of a number to ring. Yorkshire Wolds & Coast Primary Care Trust runs the out of hours service whose telephone number is 0845 056 8060.

PRESCRIPTION LINE - 672863
For requesting prescriptions between 9.00am and 3.00pm.

APPOINTMENTS - 676543
For doctors and practice nurse appointments.

HEALTH VISITORS - 603292
This connects you to the community clinic and will usually be answered by the health visitors between 9.00 - 10.00am Monday to Friday. If they are unavailable, a message can be left on their answerphone.

DISTRICT NURSES - 423114
This connects you to the district nurses' office. They are usually available to take your calls until 4.00pm Monday to Friday. If they are unavailable, a message can be left on their answerphone.

THE COMMUNITY CLINIC - 603292
You will see that Manor House Surgery has two entrances. Approaching the building, the main wing (for doctors, practice nurses, appointments, prescriptions and general enquiries) is to the LEFT, whilst the community clinic (for health visitors and midwives) is to the RIGHT.

STAFF PROTECTION

A zero tolerance policy towards violent, threatening and abusive behaviour is now in place throughout the National Health Service.

The staff in this practice have the right to do their work in an environment free from such behaviour and everything will be done to protect that right.

At no time will any violent, threatening or abusive behaviour be tolerated in this practice. If you do not respect the rights of our staff we may choose to inform the police and make arrangements for you to be removed from our medical list.

DATA PROTECTION AND CONFIDENTIALITY

We ask you for personal information so that you can receive care and treatment. This information is recorded and we are registered under the Data Protection Act. The practice will ensure that patient confidentiality is maintained at all times by all members of the practice team. However, for the effective functioning of a multi-disiplinary team it is sometimes necessary that medical information about you is shared between members of the practice team.

FREEDOM OF INFORMATION – PUBLICATION SCHEME

The Freedom of Information Act 2000 obliges the practice to produce a Publication Scheme. A Publication Scheme is a guide to the ‘classes’ of information the practice intends to routinely make available.
